Wisconsin Presidential Primary
WISCONSIN (February 18, 2004) - Nearly One Million people went to their local polling places to participate in the Wisconsin Presidential Primary on February 17th. More than 825,000 of them chose to vote in the Democratic Primary, while about 160,000 voted in the Republican Primary.
There were five candidates remaining for Democrats to choose from and only one candidate for Republicans. On the Democrats side, those left in the race were John Kerry (nearly 328,000 votes), John Edwards (over 283,000 votes), Howard Dean ( about 151,000 votes), Dennis Kucinich (more than 27,000 votes), and Al Sharpton (nearly 15,000 votes). Republican incumbent George W. Bush received support from nearly 159,000 voters, while more than 1200 primary voters were uncommitted.
