WISCONSINREPORT.COM (01/10/08) - State Senator Roger Breske (D-Eland) has announced he will not support the amended smoking ban bill which has passed out of the Senate Public Health Committee. The vote was 3-2, including bipartisan opposition from Senator Pat Kreitlow (D-Chippewa Falls) and Senator Dale Schultz (R-Richland Center), on Senate Bill 150 as amended. After Senator Kreitlow’s proposed amendment to delay the effective date for taverns and restaurants to April 1, 2011 failed, the Committee verbally amended the delay date to January 1, 2010, giving taverns and restaurants about one and one-half years instead of three years to adjust to the proposed change.
