So far, counties have recounted 1,490,741 votes, which is approximately 99 percent of the original votes cast in the State Supreme Court race. WISCREPORT.COM (02/25/2011) - Wisconsin Assembly Republicans passed Assembly Bill 11 in the middle of the night before half of the Assembly Democrats had a chance to cast votes. The bill includes taking away Collective Bargaining from public employees, which is the object of disagreement between the two political bodys. Polls show public sentiment is in favor of allowing Collective Bargaining, but Gov. Walker and fellow Republicans have been sticking to their notion that it needs to be removed. WISCREPORT.COM (02/15/2011) - The illness of a 6 year old Wisconsin cat has been declared to be the first confirmed case of the H1N1 influenza virus in a United States pet since January of 2010. The American Veterinary Medical Association has announced that laboratory tests have confirmed the feline was sick with the flu that caused a scare among the human population not too long ago. The cat may have caught the disease from its owner who had symptoms before the cat became ill. The feline was euthanized after it failed to respond to treatment. WISCREPORT.COM (01/26/2011) - The latest figures show unemployment was down slightly last month and down in Wisconsin last month from the same month last year. 227,700 workers were without jobs at the end of 2010, compared to 258,200 at Christmas time the year before. December, 2010 figures from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development indicate a 7.5 percent unemployment rate, compared to 9.4 percent in the nation.
