WISCREPORT.COM (11/1/07) - The Department of Administration’s (DOA) Division of Energy Services and the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) are urging energy customers to contact their local utility if their heat is currently disconnected. Consumers cannot be disconnected during the heating moratorium period from November 1 to April 15, if they are connected at the start of the moratorium. Energy-efficiency programs and the state’s low-income bill payment assistance programs are also available to reduce the burden of utility bills this winter. (read more)...
WISCREPORT.COM (10/31/07) - Invenergy Wind LLC (Invenergy) announced the successful closing of construction and term debt financing for its Forward Energy wind farm in Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties in Wisconsin. The Forward Energy project was the first wind project to be permitted through the State Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) permit process. The project is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in early 2008. (read more)...

WISCREPORT.COM (10/4/07) - The Wisconsin Petroleum Council says the proposed tiered oil tax creates unintended consequences for the state's transportation funding. The Council claims the proposal might result in higher consumer prices because provisions to the contrary may be unconstitutional. The Council also warns that oil companies could choose to not deliver product to Wisconsin if the tiered oil tax becomes fact. (read more)...
WISCREPORT.COM (9/28/07) The University of Wisconsin-Madison Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC) has received $6.67 million in start-up funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The funds will allow researchers to get to work on new sources of energy to power cars, homes, and businesses. GLBRC will receive about 125 million in DOE funding over five years. (read more)...
