U W - Madison Is Number Six On The Latest Playboy Top 10 List Of Party Schools
WISCONSINREPORT.COM (04/18/2011) - The capital city of Wisconsin is not only gaining more and more public attention around the country and the world for recent protesting, and a visit by former Republican Vice Presidnential candidate Sarah Palin to a Tea Party event, it is now being acclaimed for another event. The University of Wisconsin - Madison has again made it onto the Playboy Magazine Top 10 Party Schools list.
For the sixth time in its 58-year history, Playboy magazine has released its list of Top 10 Party Schools. The much-talked-about rankings, featured in the magazine's May 2011 issue (on newsstands and online at www.playboydigital.com Friday, April 15).
The list was determined by Playboy's editors with input from students, fans of Playboy's social media pages, alumni, feedback from Playboy campus representatives at schools across the country, and interviews with countless others.
Additionally, other factors that were taken into consideration for the schools that made the list include their male-female ratios, academics, and the winning percentage of their sports teams, as well as their proximity to beaches, ski slopes and lively music scenes.
The following schools have earned a spot on Playboy's 2011 Top 10 Party Schools list: (1) University of Colorado at Boulder, (2) Pennsylvania State University, (3) Arizona State University, (4) University of Western Ontario, (5) University of Texas at Austin, (6) University of Wisconsin, (7) University of Georgia, (8) University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (9) University of Central Florida, and (10) University of California, Santa Barbara.
In addition to its Top 10 rankings, Playboy's May issue also features a "Class Act" list which crowns 17 additional schools as category winners. Awards include "Most Coveted Dorm Room" (Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg's old dorm at Harvard), "Best College Sports Bar" (The Swamp Restaurant in Gainesville, FL), and "Hottest Sorority" (San Diego State's Alpha Phi chapter).

Playboy last published its Top Party Schools list in May 2010 with the University of Texas at Austin crowned as the champion.
The magazine's first list, Top 40 Party Colleges, appeared in the January 1987 issue with California State University-Chico taking the #1 spot.
Party school rankings have also appeared in the magazine's November 2002, May 2006, and May 2009 issues.
