WISCONSINREPORT.COM (12/07/2009) - The Wisconsin Safety Council and the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development are now accepting nominations for the 16th Annual Wisconsin Corporate Safety Awards. Companies compete based on size and type of business. The awards are given in recognition of company safety and health achievements.
"The Wisconsin Corporate Safety Awards honor Wisconsin employers that achieve safety and health excellence," said Bryan Roessler, director of the Wisconsin Safety Council (WSC).
"The program recognizes companies for best practices in safety and honors them for maintaining and promoting a safe workplace," Roessler continued.
The 2009 Wisconsin Corporate Safety Awards are judged in categories based on both the size and type of business or organization. The awards competition involves a statistical phase and a subjective phase.
Companies must report incidence rates for the 2007-2009 calendar years, and finalists provide details on safety leadership and employee participation, safety program implementation, safety and health training, and accomplishments and goals.
Nominations must be received by Friday, January 15, 2010.
Seventeen grand awards winners will be presented at the Corporate Safety & Hall of Fame Awards Dinner held in conjunction with 68th Annual Wisconsin Safety & Health Conference/Expo, on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center, Wisconsin Dells.
