Group Calls Kathleen Falk Person To End Walker War On Women
WISCONSINREPORT.COM (04/05/2012) - Kathleen Falk, Democratic candidate for governor and former Dane County Executive, has earned the unanimous endorsement of the Womens Campaign Fund (WCF). In its endorsement, Womens Campaign Fund President Siobhan Bennett noted Falk is the strongest candidate to defeat Governor Scott Walker in the upcoming recall election and end what she called the War On Women.
Womens Campaign Fund is a nonpartisan organization founded in 1974, "dedicated to dramatically increasing the number of women in elected office who support reproductive health choices for all."
"I am so honored to have earned the endorsement of the Women’s Campaign Fund," said Democrat Kathleen Falk.
"The Women’s Campaign Fund has played a central role electing women at the state, federal and local levels and I am grateful for their support and the resources and experience they bring," candidate Falk said.
WFC President and CEO Siobhan Bennett believes Governors play a key role in protecting women and families from far-reaching, extremist attacks on women’s health.
"Kathleen Falk represents our best chance to put an end to the anti-women policies of Governor Scott Walker once and for all. And with two pro-choice governors retiring this year, this election is all the more critical for WCF and women all across the country," Bennett said.
In her race for governor, Falk has earned the endorsements of every organization which has endorsed in the Democratic primary.
Women’s Campaign Fund joins WEAC, EMILY’s List, AFSCME, SEIU, SEIU Healthcare WI, AFT, Clean Wisconsin, UFCW, IBEW L159, Young Progressives of WI and the Sierra Club in support of Falk for Governor of the State of Wisconsin.
Kathleen Falk was the first woman elected county executive in Dane County’s history and was re-elected a record-setting three times. She is the second-longest serving county executive in state history and in 2002 became the first woman to run for governor on a major party ticket.
